The Future Leader Development Program is designed to train and mentor post-secondary students in the area of coaching. In the 2021 version of the program, selected future leaders will be trained through virtual sessions that include: skill development, leadership, team building and practice planning. Participants will earn Coach 2 credit after full attendance and active participation in the two day event. The Future Leaders Development Program helps to provide a base of enthusiastic coaches that will play an active role in Hockey Alberta programs and within their communities for years to come.
Dates: The evenings of July 6 & 7, 2021 (7pm)
Virtual Program Eligibility Criteria
- Currently enrolled or accepted in post-secondary in fall of 2021
- Interested in coaching/teaching hockey
- Alberta Resident
Scholarship Criteria
The candidates who complete the 2021 scholarship criteria will be eligible for one of the ten Hockey Alberta Foundation Award of Excellence in Leadership scholarships. Ten scholarships of $1000 will be awarded upon completion of the criteria requirements. Scholarships are only available to those select students who are:
- Full attendance and active participation in virtual event on July 6 & 7
- Completed post-task by deadline
- Current or incoming to a Post-Secondary Institute
- An Albertan (out of province students – 2yrs residency/attendance of Post-Secondary Institute prior to the application date)
