Hockey Alberta is proud to announce the launch of its new and improved website.
“It’s an exciting day for Hockey Alberta as we take another step towards our vision of becoming the most progressive and innovative sport organization in the country,” said Hockey Alberta General Manager, Rob Litwinski. “The new website will provide tools for our staff, volunteers and members that will increase our communication capability and improve the efficiency of the administration of our business.”
The new website will provide players, parents, coaches, officials, administrators and fans with an enhanced and user friendly web experience.
“We changed the organization of the website by creating sections for each user group, like players, coaches, and members, to customize the experience and streamline navigation for every individual who comes on our site,” said Hockey Alberta’s Manager of Marketing and Communications, Mike Dennis.
“I recall when we first launched hockeyalberta.ca back in the mid 90’s,” added Litwinski. “It’s amazing what our site has become to this point, and now we look forward to creating a terrific tool to tie our communication and services back to our membership and the general hockey public.”
The launch will consist of two phases:
The first phase of the launch, which is now active, features the completely redesigned www.hockeyalberta.ca with an all-new look and upgraded features including a keyword search function, magazine viewer for publications, scorekeeper stats system, online event registration, aggregated and customized e-newsletters, richer multimedia in the form of video players and photo galleries as well as the integration of Facebook and Twitter.
Phase two of the launch will include the deployment of the “Hockey Hub” where members will have the ability to add content such as local event news and information, job postings and multimedia to the Hockey Alberta website. Additional private area communication tools will also eventually become available. An exact launch date for phase two is still to be determined.
Notes:
• If you have a website that is linked to a particular page on the old www.hockeyalberta.ca, that link will now be inactive and will need to be updated.
• Login information for permits and sanctions will remain the same as it was on the old website.
