Coaching Para Hockey
Para hockey is open to both male and female able-bodied and disabled players of all ages. It is a sport that everyone can play. The program is divided into Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels. The para hockey season runs from October through April. Our complete Para Hockey Coaching Resource Guide is available for download.
A Para Coach Clinic is held as part of the Para Kick Off held in Red Deer at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre. This session can qualify for the in-person portion of Coach 2 (Coach Level) Qualification if needed. Full Coach 2 certification is required of all Head Coaches of Para Hockey. If you need to be fully certified, you will need to take the online portion of the certification. Registration for the online courses opens in September, you can find them here once registrations opens.
